How my journey began
Hi, my name is Samantha, or more widely known as Sam, and I’m here to tell you that my journey has not been easy or very linear. Originally from NYC, I completed my undergraduate studies at Towson University. I completed my Master’s program at St. John’s University in Queens, NY and then moved back to Baltimore, Maryland where I live and work currently.
I completed my CFY in the school system. Once I completed my CFY, I transitioned to a part time position in a SNF where I was able to grow and develop the program to need two full-time SLPs by the time I left. COVID really rocked my world and gave me the opportunity to work across multiple settings including: acute care, SNF (skilled nursing), LTC (long-term care), ALF/ILF (assisted & independent living facilities), and CCRC (Continued Care Retirement Community).
The hospital systems I work for include Ascension, Johns Hopkins University, and University of Maryland which is a level 1 trauma center. My experiences also include outpatient and a brief stint in private practice working with pediatric clients.
